Have you ever read a great writer and wondered how they created this experience with words? Have you ever wanted to bring that technique into your writing?
In this workshop, we’ll close-read a piece of art. Most of the time, it’ll be a poem or short piece of prose, but it could also be a work of visual or musical art. We’ll notice, discuss, and wonder about the elements in the piece. No formal training in the arts required—just bring your powers of observation. There are no right or wrong answers—only our experience of the piece.
Then, we’ll use the piece to inspire our writing by writing to prompts using the Amherst Writers & Artists method.
Open to beginning, rusty, and experienced writers (and a writer is someone who writes, which makes everyone a writer).
Cancellation policy: Email me at susanwingertphd@gmail.com a minimum of 72 hours before the workshop to receive a refund minus a $5 administration fee. After the cut-off, no refunds will be issued; however, you may sell or gift your spot to someone else. Please email me with their contact information so they receive the Zoom link.
